President’s Club members and their guests will be leaving the boundaries of the United States and, therefore, will need a valid passport to enter Mexico. Please ensure your passport is valid for a minimum of six months subsequent to your return. Most countries today require a six-month validity date and it is wise to ensure your passport complies for your President’s Club trip or if you are planning on extending your time in Mexico. This is a requirement by the U.S. Government that will be enforced. These documents must match the name on your itinerary exactly.
Passports usually take up to six weeks to process. However, you can expedite a faster turnaround with Travisa. Please see information below. If you have never applied for a passport, please note, a certified birth certificate with a raised seal from the county in which you were born is the document required and the full name listed on your birth certificate will be used on your passport unless you also provide proper legal documentation of a name change. Most county courthouses are familiar with this process and will provide you with the proper documentation; however, it does take time. Hospital birth certificates are unacceptable. Improper documentation will be returned and will only serve to slow the process. U.S. Post Offices also offer passport services, but you must have proper documentation.
Obtaining a U.S. Passport is relatively easy, although the process can be lengthy. Either stop by your local U.S. Post Office for the appropriate forms or go online at http://www.travisa.com/. The application process and fees are explained, and the forms are available on the site, as well. If necessary, an additional fee can be paid to expedite the processing of your passport. Abbott Diagnostics will not cover any fees to obtain passports for guests or spouses. However, Abbott employees/members can expense their fees through standard Abbott expense reporting channels.
REAL ID has been extended to May 03, 2023. Passengers who have driver’s licenses issued by a state that is not yet compliant with REAL ID and that have not received an extension will need to show an alternative form of acceptable identification for domestic air travel. Please see TSA’s website for a list of acceptable forms of identification. Passengers who have licenses issued by a state that is compliant or that has an extension to become compliant with REAL ID requirements may continue to use their licenses as usual. For a list of states already in compliance or with an extension visit DHS’s REAL ID. DHS continually updates this list as more states come into compliance or obtain extensions.
Special Passport Note for Those without Valid Passports. If you are among those who need to apply or renew your passport, please submit your Registration Form leaving your passport number blank. Again, provide us with your name as it will appear exactly on your passport, so we can match your name precisely on your airline ticket. When you receive your passport, you can email your new passport number or renewed passport information to MADISON 2021AbbottPClub@madisonpg.com. Do not delay in providing us this important registration information simply because you are waiting for your passport number. If you have questions about your documents, please call President’s Club Travel Headquarters at +1 (888) 231-9187 or +1 (212) 653-1291 (ID #xxxx).
Citizens of other countries must also have valid passports from their respective countries and must check with their local Consulate to determine if they need a visa for travel to enter Mexico. It is your responsibility to ensure that you and your companion have the appropriate citizenship documents. Boarding will be denied if your documentation does not meet both U.S. and Mexican requirements.
